Trying to find out any info on a 97 seaswirl striper. Wondering if they are a great, good,or bad boat. Found one that has been repoed and the motor isn't running so can't go on a sea trial to find out how it rides . The price is probably right and the motor is suppose to turn over but no key in the switch, supposedly they run a wire to the starter to get it to turn over to do a compression check (200 Johnson Ocean Pro) which gave a return of 90 on one side and 90 65 and 70 on the other. Might just be that the cylenders were dry and it may have good compression. Please tell me what yall think about these boats, this one is a 21 cuddy cabin, Thanks John

I see we've chatted on your other post. I have a 23' Seaswirl WA & I'm very pleased. Keep it moored, fish with it often. They make a good quality product and their boats are quite popular here in the PacNW (where they're built). Good luck on the engine...if you get it running, it'll go fast. Guy in the marina next to me has your boat with a 175 Johnson, and loves it.

Went and looked at the boat and I think it could be fixed but it has had a rough life. The windshield is gone out of the left side and the top piece is gone off the right windshield. The rail is ripped off the front so would have to replace all of that if I could find somewhere around here to buy the peices. The Hull itself looked good though

My buddy has a 1988 Seaswirl 18' I/O...he's very happy with it. His Seaswirl rides much nicer than my 18' Beachcraft. I think Seaswirl is an excellent choice for entry level boaters. They've been in business a very long time...outlasted many, many of their local competitors IE: Beachcraft, SunRunner, Fiberform, etc... Capn Mike is correct in saying they're very popular in our area.

Walt

I used to sell Sea Swirl runabouts and the ride and build are top notch. I do not know about the striper sereis but if they are built with the quality that there runabouts were built with you should be very happy.

Ouch! Just read Walter's post: look again @ your friend's boat, pal. They're much better than a Bayliner, which I believe most of us think of as an entry level boat. Seaswirls have more features, are much better built and have a great warranty....although I trust I won't need that part.
Although none of this is going to help John...
