I have my first boat now. It's a Cee Bee Avenger 20 FT. 5.7 L. MPI I/O open bow. I've had it out at the lake 3 times, and have learned alot. Still a rookie at boating, but having fun learning.
My boat does not seem cut though rough water very well. I'm thinking it's the shape of the hull { more for speed } shallow stepped V.
Another brand boat like mine is the Team Hawaiian. Anyone have a Team Avenger like mine ? I'm wondering what size prop it was with built with ??

Am I thinking right about the rough ride, and the type of hull ??

That's part of it. Hull displacement (overall weight), center of gravity (weight forward or aft), running attitude (bow down or bow up), and speed through the water are other factors that come to mind. Some you can adjust, others (like hull configuration) ... not so much.

I don't think any boats are built with props, mostly fiberglass tools.

Thank you, I'll try and put family in the bow as much as I can. Other than weight distribution, I stuck with the rough ride.
It's great on smooth water. I had it up to 55 mph, { 23" prop } and had more speed left. I think it will do 60 mph, but I'm happy crusing at 40 mph, now with a 19" prop.
I have not pulled a tube yet. I bought the 19" prop for that reason. I'll try it out next year.

Yes your right, but the day I had it up to 55 mph there was only one other boat on the lake, and the water was glass smooth.
