Re: Inline 6 help with ignition

Dsrchamp I have never herd of him in my life. I just do a lot of reading of the forums. I'm not jealous or intimidated buy anybody. I just like to see people help others on iboats and help when I can. I also thought that I may could help joe with his trigger problem that I have had in the past with mercury inlines.. I think it is rude to judge people that is helping others no matter how much they know A little or A lot as long as they can help. your input was no help at all. What I have seen from your past post's all you have done was cut people down, or said don't listen to him he is not as smart as this guy. What do you know you don't work on your own boat Dsr? I think any help is welcome..Eather help or shhhh Floyd

P.S. Sorry again Joe If you need any help ( It looks like they have you taken care of) Just let me know. Floyd

pinkfloyd.....I agree with what your saying about helping people and thats why I said something to mike. he was picking at laddies when he was trying to help someone by saying sorry laddies clams is the best. If he wouldnt have poked at laddies I wouldnt have poked at him....what is the difference between what he did that im complaing about and what i did that your complaining about?? I think we are on common ground when it comes to helping folks...thats what the forums need to be used for....not for takin cheap shots.....I hope this helps you understand why I said anything....later...Nick.

Originally posted by dsrchamp04:
clams better than laddies? you think so myoutboards....nice try...your wrong...dead wrong. you wont find anything on the internet that laddies wrote up patting himself on the back,he doesnt need to do that. I mean no disrespect toward clams cause I know he is good with the I6 stuff, but the fact is that laddies has been wrenching since clams was born. I doubt you will ever see the day that clams and laddies dispute who is the better because they are both classy guys with alot of knowledge....and they are gracious enough to share it and help others...which is lucky for all of us who dont know the powerhead from the lower unit..... ;)
Laddy and I usually give redundant advice or at least the same advice with perhaps a slightly different spin. My difference is only in "marketing" as I specificly target the inline 6 users as my customer base. Yes, I do other Mercs, but they are "side work". And I've been turning screws since about 1970.. it all started with a lawnmower that wouldn't. :D

-W

Hi Clams...
I replaced the carbon brush and one of the wire connectors from the ground. When tested, it worked...now the whole motor purrres like a kitten.
Thanks to Laddies, Clams,Tim and all who responded.

The repair that was quoted to cost $1000+, cost me only $7.00 with the help I received on iboats.

Also, Clams, if I need parts I have your e-mail address.

Joe

Great Joe, Things like this is what I like to hear.

P.S. I would be sure to use a little seafoam in the fuel To help keep things clean. It sure helped my inline. It can help idle , holeshot and max rpm's. It is well worth the money.
Good Luck,Tim
