Re: Inline fuel filter

HI stickler. I use one of these clear, plastic, cone-shaped, in-line filters on all my motors and they work great and let you watch the fuel flow. They usually only cost about $2. I install mine in the line going from the fuel pump to the carb.

Thanks for the quick response kfa4303, the one in the photo looks like it would do a great job, where would you purchase one these, as i have only seen a few in my local stores and they all seem to big and made of glass, usually 2-3 inches long, too big for under the cowl of a 4hp outboard.

Wall mart has some for 2.69. Not sure if this is too big or not. Got mine today

Re: Inline fuel filter

Whatever you decide to go with make sure its suitable to be used with premixed fuel.....

I think the more imporatant issue is that you have a filter on it not so much what type, they all do the the same thing.

I run the same type as ccv and haven't had a carb issue in the 3 years I have run it, I think the paper filters get more crap out of the gas than the cintered ones but they are all okay.
