Hi everyone,
I recently purchased a 14ft 1978 collins craft fg jon boat. There is only a through transom drain plug. Did this boat come with a inner hull drain plug? I am afraid to find it was glassed over and inside mush.

i don't know about that particular brand name but i think most boats have drain holes running under the floor along side the stringers so the water will make to the back of the boat.

I have recently taken apart a 70s Collins Craft Bass Boat.I had to take out the foam and everything. I found nothing that would allow the water to get to the back of the boat. This may be out of the question for what you want to do, but I am going to run pvc pipe from a bath tub drain to the back of the boat before I put the foam back in.

I have a '90 galaxie with same issue. No drain from bow of boat. When i opened it up it was a swampy mess. Like auburnfan said i added a pvc from frot of ski locker to bilge. I will also be adding other drain holes. Good luck

You would be surprised at how many boats are made with no drainage to certain areas. I've restore several boats with water standing in different areas under the deck with absolutely no way for it to ever drain back to the bilge.

I usually end up adding several limber holes on my restores.
