Inner transom plate price.

So my mechanic is changing my inner transom plate because it's cracked. He told me that it is regularly 700$ new but that he got me one for 300$. Is this a normal price or is he taking me for a ride? That's 300 Canadian dollars btw.

Ayuh,..... Welcome Aboard,.... It'd help to know which motor, 'n which drive ya got,....

A quick search of ebay oughta give ya an idea of fair market value for a used inner transom plate,....

Thank you! Oh yes sorry i forgot. It's an alpha 1 gen 2. I did look on eBay and saw some ranging from 35-90$ that's why I was curious

Just did quick generic check at Mercruiserparts.com and the (list) retail price for an Alpha GEN II and Bravo inner transom plate is $289.00 USD. (shipping and tax might put it over $300)

eBay prices ranged from $30-$300 for Alpha and Bravo.

I would say the guy is saying $700 so he can make you feel good at $300 (It IS good if it includes labor!!)

Google and eBay is your friend here. Caveat Emptor.
