Hey All,

Anybody know where I can buy the inside trim for the gunwale? It's basically a flat piece of aluminum with a small bead like lip on top that is riveted in place.

Ayuh,... Google up "Aluminum Extrusions", 'n maybe, just Maybe you can find something...

Though you'll probably have to settle for something close, rather than Exactly the same...

Its pretty hard to find those specialty trim/extrusions/angle pieces. I've seen a few threads (e.g. LMuss's sea nymph thread) where folks have asked where to find it and I'm not sure its generally available. I think might have to go to a specialty sheet metal place locally and see what they might have...

Let me know what you find out, because I have to extend the gunwales on my boat and need to find a match (if possible) for the specialty pieces I have. One solution that some folks have used is to simply remove the specialty piece that on's there and just replace it with regular flat aluminum angle pieces.

You can buy aluminum flat bar stock and angle at Home Depot.

Yur local fab shop should be able to make just about anything you want eh (for a price certainly):joyous:

I live in Meridian Ms. :lol: no such thing as a local fab shop around here, I wish I wish I wish....they wouldn't be able to keep me away LOL, maybe that is something I need to open up? Although good equipment is very expensive and would most likely take a while to recover that expense.

Maybe as Bond-o and Pmccraney mentioned I can do some creative searching online and find a close match. I was just hoping someone else had already gone through this and found a source. I don't mind doing the leg work and sharing the results, just didn't want to if it had already been done, so.....a searching I will go, and will keep you guys informed. thanks, wish me luck!

McMaster-Carr has some specialty aluminum shapes, you might want to look around their site to see if you can find a match.

This place looks promising, I'm going to email them and see if they can send me some better pictures of their "gunwale" trim.

Yah, if you can't get anybody to fab something for you than the best bet is to pick up something very close or replace it all together so it looks uniform eh:watermelon:
