I'm looking at a 1983 Conroy-Glastron 19XL with a 130 hp Mercruiser. It is clean and has only 133 hours on meter (owned by older guy and appears taken care of). it was in storage for awhile.<br /><br />Another dealer told me it is wise to do a compression test on the motor and a pressure test on outdrive seals. He also told me to have the water pump changed.<br /><br />If the marina that is selling me the boat agrees to do this (presumably at my expense, while I watch), what kind of numbers should I be looking for from each test?<br /><br />Thanks<br />(still seeing snow in VT)
<br /><br />Shop rates depend on the area your in....Sounds like about 5-8 hours work tops plus parts. You should change the oil too in the lower unit and engine, check gas tank for condensation, fuel lines for hardness and cracks. UP north? check for freeze damage to the engine....
