Guys ,

Coming on nicely with transom job.thanks for the hints so far.

I have two battery switches, racor filter, wash down pump, isolator , etc to put back on the transom. Having learnt the hard way with termites and rots, I am being careful of boring holes . I am thinking of glassing on another piece of plyboard , say six inches wide right across for this purpose.any ideas.?

Any comments on my blocking off the gil bracket to avoid water from coming in and settling in there ? I was thinking of using 1/4" aluminum plating to do the job and sealing it off independently before putting it back on..my next move..

PS..Proline with OB on gil bracket

Thanks mon..

Mount them on a seperate piece or plate. Use aluminum or go to the store and buy a plastic kitchen cutting board and mount everything to that. Nothing is grounded to the mounting plate anyway........ you just need a material that will not fall apart. Once you have that .... then mount that plate where needed. You can use stainless steel bolts (extra long) and where they are placed use them as studs and even create a small standoff so no water can sit behind the plate.
