I have a 75' Clinton 7hp motor that has no kill switch. The instructions on the cover tells you to "choke to start" and "choke to stop". This works but choking the engine to stop it just floods it. Then when you go to start is again, it gives you a hard time because it's flooded. I was wondering if there is an aftermarket kill switch that I can add to the motor and if so, does anyone know how to install it? i.e. What wires would I be looking for?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Sorry...I posted this message in the wrong area. If a "mod" would move to the Clinton area, it would be much appreciated.

Thanks for the link Bubbakat. I was getting ready to type out a long winded post, but this is much easier, pics and all. :D

Thanks againg for the help...was wondering if I was to install a monentary switch that would ground the points to turn of engine, what would the voltage rating for the switch need to be? ie 12 volt...

Voltage wouldn,t come into play on this because it is going to ground anyway.
I buy my kill switches at wal-mart in the marine section. They have a lanyard with the wish bone yoke to hook to your life vest so if you go over board it will shut everything down. You can get them at any marine store. The push button type or toggle type either.
