Hey everyone. I am a first time boat owner to a 2003 250SE. I plan to install AC in the vessel (Oklahoma temps are a cool 110 in the summer) and was curious where the factory installs the actual unit and where they position the vents. Im pondering installing the unit myself but may end up leaving it to someone who has more tricks up their sleeve than I. Can anyone help me out?! Also any insight on what the "BOOST" switch is would be very helpful. Im assuming NOS wasnt an option on this boat.... Thanks

Hi,

The BOOST switch bridges the two batteries together to start the engine in case your engine battery dies.
The A/C unit is installed at the aft cabin. In there, there are two small cabinets. The A/C is installed inside the right hand one.
My advice is, let someone who knows to do the job. If you decide to do it yourself, I can help with pics from my boat.
What is NOS?

Bannister, cant thank you enough. I thought thats where it might be. So the fuel tank is underneath the aft cabin, which leaves me wondering how and where the vents are located and routed. Pics may be helpful for my installer if they arent too much trouble. NOS is nitrous oxide. Its used pretty commonly in the u.s. for an extra boost in race cars.

Hi,
Knew that NOS is that, never thought someone would mention it for a boat... Seems slow to you? What engine and props you have?
I will take a few pics this weekend and send them to you.
Vents (1 in aft and 1 going forward) are running at the stb side of the boat, not under the aft cabin.
Be prepared to strip that side.
Mine was factory installed so you will see the right way.
Wiring should be there already hidden.

Bannister, my boat came with the Merc. 350 and the bravo 3 prop set. Not sure what pitch they are. It tops out at about 35 mph. Plenty for me. Which set up fo you have? BTW, You havent been able to snap any ac install pics yet have ya?

Mine came with a 350 EFI (260hp) which I have converted to the same like yours, Bravo 3 and 22 props.
According to the factory, that is the right setup from the assembly line for both engines.
Mine tops at about 42 miles at 4800 rpm with full fuel and water tanks.

I have guests from overseas (fiances parents) and did not have the chance to visit the boat this weekend.
You will have them by Sunday evening (my time).
