i have a 2005 18ft trophy walkaround...its a new boat and so far i am happy with it...this last weekend i was pulling some kids around on a tube, and it seemed to me that the factory location of the hooks on the transom are too low and narrow...i realize this is a fishing boat but i'd like to do a little sking off it..id like to add 2 more hooks a bit higher and wider..i was looking around today and it seems the top 4 inches of so are just thin fiberglass..below that it would appear that there is a piece of wood glassed into the rest of the transom..any one have any ideas..i think this would be a good local but it would be a real bummer if i tore 2 holes in the back of the boat!! maybe i'll try to get some pictures..

IF you decide to install some tow points you will need to use a strong backing plate. Stainless is preferred but an aviation grade aluminum would work. Just need to spread the load around a greater area. Thinking something around 1/4" thick would suffice. I'd prep the area and apply some 3M 5200 and through bolt. :D

installing bow hooks on the transom
In that case, wouldn't they be called transom hooks?

Maybe not, just didn't seem fitting to call them bow hooks....
