Installing fish finder

It says to mount the transducer 1/8" below the transom. My transom extends down and then at the bottom edge, cuts in towards the bow a few inches. It then extends down a few more inches. This is where the drain hole is. Do I need to mount it so that it sits 1/8" below that portion or just the bottom of the transom wall?

Sorry if that is a little difficult to understand. It's hard to explain but I'm sure you know what I mean.

Ayuh,... Put it down by the drain plug...

you should install it a good bit to the left or right of the motor to not interupt the water flow to the prop
