Just bought a new Holley 4175 because I was tired of dealing with my quadrajet... I thought this would be a drop-in application, but you know how that goes....
First, it looks like I need at least a 1" spacer because the front fuel inlet hits the water neck. Also, the existing fuel line is not long enough so I'm going to have to get a new one....
Second, the aft mounting studs go right into the rear fuel bowl with about 2cm of clearance between the fuel bowl and the baseplate, so there is no room to put the existing throttle cable bracket there...
What can I do to attach the throttle cable mechanism to the carb? To clarify, not the part that operates the butterflies, but the part that holds the throttle cable parallel with the carb.
I see products like this:
80 bucks for a spacer? What?!?
Is there any other way to hook this up reasonably cheaply?
