Installing new carpet..

Well, I am going to bite the bullet and do my own carpet. Has anyone else done this? What is some good advice that you would like to share? I think I am going to order all my materials from here: "BASS BOAT CARPETS" Has anyone delt with these folks? They seem like good people to me. Thanks

JB makes a good point. Carpet is great but the wood underneath it has to be super sealed. The carpet will hold water next to the wood and if it isn't sealed, the results is rotten wood .<br /><br />c/6<br />Hooty

FSHKPR, <br />Thanks for that link. I've been ready to buy and was currently pricing. While the carpet is about competetive with others, the free shipping saves a bundle! That's like $30-$40 below everyone elses pricing with the shipping factored in. <br /><br />Roger

I replaced my flooring with a covering called DECK marine flooring and I love it. It went down with contact cement. The trick I learned was to buy a sheet of cheap plastic. Coat both surfaces with the cement and let it dry tack-free. Then lay out the plastic and you can position the flooring exactly where you want it without it sticking. When you like it, pull out the plastic. I don't know if this will help for carpet but I sure liked it.
