installing new switch box and stator, any advise?

well i am gonna install my new switch box and stator on my 45 hp this weekend do you guy's have any advise or tips that will help me. those parts cost me alot of money and the last thing i wont to do is mess them up by not installing them properly. I have a seloc manual, but i just want to see what you guy's have to say.

Just don't cross any wires,and loctite the stator screws. AND torque the flywheel nut.Might be a good idea to disconnect the battery.

DHP covered it. Also, just make sure your switchbox is properly grounded. They like to blow if not.

Just a note........The switchbox should have the wire colors embossed on it so you can make sure the wires are on the right terminals. At least my 60 did have. Crossing the wires can mess up your firing order. Also the flywheel can be hard to get off. Pull the main hub and dont unbolt the many bolts around it or you will loose your timing............Jerry

OK, i started to replace my stator today and I found out i have different wires on my new one compared to my old one. is this something mercury did. the old one has a red with white strip wire, a red wire , a blue wire, and a blue and white stripe wire running to the switch box. the new one just a blue and a blue and white stripe wire running to the switch box and the new one has a stator adaptor and the old one doesn't.
