Ok, i'm installing a set of outside post trailer guide-ons. Question is how much room do i leave on either side of the boat?

Re: Installing Pontoon Trailer Post Guides

It depends upon what you need the guides for. I think they should be just slightly wider than your boat so that if you fit between the posts, it's good enough to trailer as it sits. Also, a wide boat with widely space guides may put your trailer wider than the maximum width allowed, typically 8'-6" (with wide trailer lighting layout). I have mine spaced only a 1/2" wider than the hard chine, so it's a cinch to load in the right place. My boat is pointier than yours, so you may want a wider target, unless you can angle the guides to catch your logs in a vee as you enter. - Grandad
