Hi there.

Im planning to upgrade my Tahoe and replace the Analog Speedo for the SC1000. Im want to be sure what Im buying so I ask for help doing my "shopping list". I want to still have the other analog gauges (fuel level, trim, tach, etc).

These are the items currently on my shooping cart:

Item #1 (Speedometer SC1000 White 80 MPH): https://www.perfprotech.com/speed-ki...product/520933

Item #2 (Harness): https://www.perfprotech.com/harness-...product/194227

Item #3 (Junction Box): https://www.perfprotech.com/junction...product/190663

Item #3 (Cable Female-Female) https://www.perfprotech.com/cable-asy-fmlfml-892453a01/product/202909

Item #4 (Weather Cap) https://www.perfprotech.com/weather-cap-859318t2/product/184677

Any other think I should buy?

Thanks in advance guys

Let me see if i have this correct, you want to spend $480.00 to do what? Highly doubtful you will be going 80 miles per hour.
$480 to tell you your doing 30 Kts.Go ahead if it makes you feel lighter in your wallet.Lighter=Faster, maybe

Yeah that's a cool but pricey upgrade for a gauge that isn't used all that much in a boat. I know in a car a speedo is the most important gauge but in a boat it's the tach.

The main purpose of this upgrade is not reading the speed, is having all the information about the engine on your dashboard. I know I am not riding at 80 mph, but thats is not what I intend to do.

So, back to the first questions? any other item I should buy?

Hi there welcome to iboats!:) Don't let the negativity get you down about the upgrade, I guess getting old has it's....Oh never mind.:D

Looking at the blue cable in your part number, it looks like the cable has two resistors already (yellow tape at each end). If so and you plan on only using one digital gauge and not add any others later on then you won't need the J box and whether cap or resistors. As with any smart craft system, you need 2 resistors. One at each end.

One thing is you'll need to decide if you want an analog or digital read fuel gauge as you cannot run both due to wiring interruption issues at the fuel sending unit.

Also to get the smart craft speedometer to work, your going to need a digital speedo sensor and transom wiring harness which would also allow you to utilize the digital fuel read should you have or want to go to one someday.

There are only 2 gauges that require watching and alarms .your oil pressure and temperature . I may be from the points and condensor era but they always worked.
Most operators never even look at their gauges untill they see smoke or smell something funny.
Wanting to upgrade is wonderful , add batteries, add bilge pumps (2000GPH) , add a dedicated house system, but adding electronics and computers in a salt water enviroment was never a great idea.
And with the new "boat-by-wire systems", dont ever lay your cell phone next to the digital shift control box.

May be is a luxury expend but, is there any other option to read the engine hours?

I mean , there are hourometers that you conect directly to the spark plug, but my engine has some hours on it and i dont know how many.

I better prefer knowing exactly the engine hours plus some fault codes.
