Installing Waterproof Flexible Light Bar - bump rail or ??? and adhesive ?

I ordered 4 38" Waterproof Flexible Light Bars from SuperBrightleds.com and did also go ahead and ordered 20 of the mounting clips. My plan was to try and install them in the bump rail.
To install in the bump rail, seems like I would just remove the bump rail, mark the rail from behind where every led would be and drill thru the bump rail - there supposedly was a youtube video of someone doing this, but it has apparently been removed as I can't find it.
OR
since they are apparently flat on the back side, has anyone just used adhesive to mount them directly under the bump rail ? Or would this look pretty bad. I haven't seen them yet as I just ordered them, so really have no idea what they would look like mounted that way - sure would be easier, but if it would look stupid, I'd rather do the bump rail.
If anyone has done that, what adhesive did you use ?
OR - any other suggestions ?
I bought the boat in January, a 1988 Dynasty Fish & Ski and finally have it to where I am comfortable with the mechanical end of everything (and the leaking end, which is why I got it cheap) , so now I want to get it set up for when I go fishing. I do also take the family and friends tubing, so need to keep it kind of clean looking.
I live in Tennessee, too hot to fish in the day for the most part (more me then the fish) and went out at night for the 1st time the other day, a moonless night, and obviously couldn't see a thing. Of course when i did use a light for something, it just made me night blind for a bit.
I also ordered 2 warm white ones to put inside the boat, under the lip where the side bolster is.
Big thing is the best way to mount the UV lights.
any info appreciated. I have got to be ready for crappie season this year :)

I would check with local laws ans see if putting something like that on the boat is even legal.

Installing them in place of the rub rail will make THEM the rub rail.

Good point. They might well be illegal to have lit while underway.

Yup, def. Here in florida, a big no no, only FWC are allowed any extra external lights. In a car for instance you could (although rarely) be charged with impersonating a law enforcement officer  sure wouldnt need that on anyones permanent record :)

well, I would turn them off when I am moving. I have seen a whole bunch of black lights mounted this way. It's used for night fishing and especially allows you to see your line.
Dealers will install them for you when you buy a new boat for like $800.00
I was reminded of it when my son went fishing with a friend of his and his friend had them installed - tho I have not personally seen the boat A quick google shows it is a pretty common practice, only it seems a lot of people take their boats to have it done where I am more a diy kind of guy (read that as cheap) Here is an example
