When you think about it, insurance is beting against yourself. They're betting you won't need it and you are betting you will!

Re: insurance increase.

Sorry you feel charged 4 times, but you aren't being charge 4 times.

Absolutely I am. Maybe I need to get 3 friends who don't have vehicles drive the 3 I'm not being charged for yet paying for. I could charge them a small useage fee plus fuel. My vehicles are still covered, and so are they. Maybe I should start an organized neighborhood group to 'share' vehicles and policies?? Most people don't use all their vehicles everyday. Some days all 4 of mine sit if I take the bike. Someone might as well be driving them. Hell, my Suburban gets used about twice a month to take the boat to the lake, that's $22.50 per trip just for the liablity. This year its been only about once a month, $45 per trip for the liability. Other than that it just sits in the driveway. No liability coverage for sitting there.
Sorry, but you're sounding like a broken record, and have no possibilty of convincing me I'm not being charged 4 times, since my monthly statements show that I'm being CHARGED for liabilty insurance for FOUR vehicles on MY policy (WOW, I AM being charged 4 times). All four also have comp/collision, but that's elective coverage specific to each vehicle, unlike the liability coverage.
Like I said before, the insurance industry in general is an absolute scam, mandated by the government. Nice to have high-priced lobbyists, eh??????

Re: insurance increase.

Liability insurance was made mandatory in my state when I was a teenager. I went with my dad to see the agent one time. My dad told him that he should be thrown in prison. When he asked my dad why, my dad said, " Back in the 1920s it was illegal to sell insurance. Someone decided to change it's former name of PROTECTION to insurance so that some big people could make money from the less fortunate. All insurance salesmen and up to company heads should be thrown in prison." Now all of us have to pay Protection Money just to be able to go to work and and give the government a large percentage of our pay for taxes.

I'm in NY, and on my insurance statement is a line item for uninsured motorists with an added fee. Automobile Liability Insurance is mandatory in NY, and so is paying for those who drive without having liability insurance. Huh?:mad:

Here is one for you,my wife cut her finger(4 stitches) a couple of years ago so I go to pay start to give my insurance card for a 600+ bill and then I ask how much for cash the receptionist looks at me and says I will adjust it for cash to 275 like you had a high deductible,so I asked why such a big difference she says it goes straight to the bank and we don't have to pay people to get our money,Cash is King :D
Since I only have hospitalization coverage it's out of pocket for doctors visits.
When I go to my orthopedic surgeon for checkups they give me a 50% discount for paying cash.

i got dinged for an insurance increase, property tax increase and a school referendum which goes against property tax increase all in one year. I can see how people could lose a house if they bought just a bit more then they could afford and then you hit the increases it could certainly put your american dream in jeapardy. my payment went up almost $60 per month

i've done that one for years. even had a doc look at a broken hand and then say oh you don't have insurance? I guess it won't need surgery to heal.
now the bad part about that, it did not need surgery and healed just fine. guess if you have insurance you get the extra pain of surgery so they can collect the extra $.
