i have a 5.7 RWC mercruiser.

is there a difference between an automotive and a marine intake manifold?

is it ok to use an aluminum intake with a RWC engine?

i already have an Edelbrock marien carb, is there a matching intake manifold? does anyone have the part number?

Re: intake manifold

It is acceptable in most freshwater, but not saltwater. Use the Edelbrock Performer, dont know what heads you have so cant give part #

Re: intake manifold

GM themselves used to sell a cast iron copy of the old Z-28/LT-1 hi rise manifold, part # 14096011, but don't know if its still available

Re: intake manifold

OK, I gotta ask... it wasn't specified in this thread, but if the motor used a fully closed cooling system, what difference would it make if you used it in salt water or not? I know the outside of the manifold could get oxidation, but even that could be corrected by taking a couple of simple steps to prevent it. Have it bead blasted, clean it up really well with laquer thinner or suitable cleaner, then spray it with clear acrylic or just paint it with a good engine paint.

If the inside is a concern, you could always have the inside coated with something as well.

All assuming there isn't another reason for concern.
