I have a 1969 18hp evinrude that needs a new or used lower housing support. New-NLA ,used-find the part. I have found a complete 1960 outboard . My question is, will this 1960 lower housing support change with the 1969. Also need a clutch dog . So I am wondering if I could use the 1960 for a parts outboard. BRP website only goes back to 1968 so I can't find out myself. Eric

I believe it will fit. I have many 18's and all will interchange (that I have tried so far) but I have none newer than '66 so maybe someone else will know.

That same basic lower unit was used for many years and most will interchange as a complete unit. When it comes to swapping individual internal parts, the parts book is a must.

I have the 1959 book, but not the 1960. 305191 was the dog for '59.

Thank you Steve and F R,
The part# for the clutch dog is the same for the 69 so that is a good sign.
