interchangable parts

I have a 1984 and 1973 115hp mercury engines. I need to know if the power heads and carberators are interchangable. I want to rebuild the 1973 power head and carberators for a backup for thwe 1984. Any help will be appreciated

he 73 aill bolt on the 84 mid section, how ever the ign, fuel pump, carbs and many other small parts a different so the swap would have to be a dressed powerhead complete.

Depending on HP, why build the old one??? Lets says both are 115hp, the 1984 is rated at prop at 115hp and 145hp at powerhead where the 1973 is rated 115hp at powerhead and about 90hp at prop...
