Interchangeable Lower units

I have a 60 HP Evinrude 3 cylinder model# 60073 with a bad lower unit.<br />Can any of you tell me if any other year HP ect would fit my motor? Oh yeah, I almost forgot,,, It is an electric shift. Thanks. Scotty

Mid-size, thanks for the help, but I was told that if it fits a 55, it won't fit mine.Plus it states it fits Johnson 55 & 65 electric,,, So who knows. I emailed him and asked him. Lets see what he says. Thanks again

That e-bay link states that the lower unit is for a 60 horse, it ALSO fits 55 and 65 horse motors. I think it's the one you're looking for. The one you linked to states that it fits a 60 hp motor as well, but unless you bid on it, it's too late for that one.

BTW, you can't trust a lot of what people state on ebay. I bought a lower unit that i asked if it would fit my 75 Johnson 40 HP and when I got it & opened the box, it was for a 6 HP fisherman!!!! so seeing that I have one of these, I kept it & got another one from a guy in Canada that was primo...

What you have is not a 1973. That may be some of the confusion. You have a 1970.<br /><br />Also its not electric shift. Its a hydro-electric shift. Two very different types of lower units.<br /><br />A 1968-69 55 unit should work.<br />A 1970-71 60 unit should work.<br />A 1972 65 unit should work.<br /><br />All 3 cylinder motors from 1973 & up were mechanical shift.
