Interior Cabin Paint

Hi

On my 1990 Maxum 2755 Cruiser the interior part of the cabin is showing what appears to look like rust on the bathroom door and also on the wall. I noticed this when I was cleaning the inside of the cabin. I can see the bathroom door as it might be metal but figured the walls would be fiberglass. How is the best way to match this paint, its not like I can get a chip for someone to match it.
Does anyone know if Maxum uses the same basic colors on their interiors. Does this require a special paint for boats? Its kind of a beige color on both. thanks

Re: Interior Cabin Paint

First things first, the rust is probably from something "above" that is rusting and leaving a trail below. Find the leak and fix it.

That paint is actually gellcoat, just like the exterior. You can get GC repair kits and try to color match what you have. It will tak a little trial and error to get it right, so be patient.

yup...good news/bad news

the gel coat should clean up without the need to paint, CLR should work.

but, like 180 said...there's a leak somewhere. pics?
