Intermediate shift shaft bushing

The intermediate shift shaft, in the lower end of my drive shaft housing is somewhat sloppy ! The shaft does not show any signs of wear and the bushing is not out of round or oblonged, but is very thin, shouldn't the shift shaft fit more "snugly" in the busing ? I have a 1985 I-MR aplha unit.

hello<br /> it does not fit real snug. the shaft has to be able to move freely. if its a concern its very easy to replace with some home made tools and about 25 dollars worth of a bushing kit.<br /> good luck and keep posting
