I have been having an intermittent NO-START condition this summer. I have power to all accessories but not to the starter. Traced all wires and finally determined the cause is the main power cable to the engine. The plug has corrosion on the pins. In the past, on the trailer connector, I have used a .22 Cal Bore Brush in a drill to clean the corroded terminals. With the Main Engine Wiring Harness Connector, the pins are smaller and a BORE brush wont fit. What can be used to clean the terminals and is it acceptable to put some dielectric grease on the pins when it is cleaned?

I'd use any wire brush that you can make work to clean. I've never put dielectric grease on battery terminals though.

There are smaller bore brushes out there, if it will help. There are also automotive bottle type bottle type brushes made in all sorts of smaller sizes. I also would not grease that plug.

dielectric grease will never hurt, over-tightening the clamp causes more trouble to both ends of the harness
