the fibreglass around the stringers is in excellent shape however while i was removing the older screws that held the old floor in place, noticed that the internal wood has rotted at the ends would it be better to remove all the rotten wood and replace just the peice, or remove the entire stringer and refibreglass the stringers??

you can remove the old wood, and refit a new piece in it's place, the sister/scab a piece on each side, to form a lap over the joint, and glass it all in. but the better solution is total replacement.

i was thinking about actually digging out the rotten stringers, and replacing by sliding a solid piece in its place,

check out seacast, that's exactly what the product does. it won't stick to wood so all of the old wood has to go. it will stick to the old fiberglass.

there's sticky at the top of this section about it.
