Re: Internet Health & Speed Testing.

i see speeds of 20megs - 65 megs down and 10 up everyday but then again im testing about 3 feet from the fiber node that is suppling many video streams

and the whole dsl thing - there are 2/3 types of dsl, adsl and sdsl, asymetrical which the download is greater then the upload and symetrical dsl where the download and upload are around the same. the 3rd is vdsl where it is an adsl connection with video being pushed thru it, like att uverse and verison fios.

also things that can hinder your home connection on dial up are connections that run on untwisted wiring, running parallel to power lines, the list goes on

paying for 1.5 down .256 up

Cool! I'm happy with my basic service out here in the sticks!

Wow!!!!
Don't know how some of you can stand using a connection with such slow speeds. I had Comcast for 4 years and dumped them becouse they couldn't do any better than 4 meg up and 1.2 meg down.

Went to Verizon FIOS (fiber optic) 4 months ago. ;);)
There are "N" wireless numbers. Never tried testing on a wire.

Ok Heres mine mind you this is running wireless from the other end of the house I could get better numbers from my wired connection on the other end of the house where the router is :D. I have a 20.0 connection now that averages 25.0 from the wired connection and we are getting ready to upgrade to their 30.0 connection :D.

Verizon has a very limited service area and isn't available everywhere.

Man, some of you guys have some kickin service. I made about a 40% improvement in my mobile broadband by cutting down a tree in the line of sight between antenna and cell tower. Now I'm back to 1.4 meg down, and 0.8 meg up. :D
