How fast will a 55lb thrust electric motor drive an Intex Excursion 5 with two people on board? Approximately of course? Is a 55lb thrust motor powerful enough?
And as to whether or not it's powerful enough, I'm pretty sure even a 30 pound thrust Minn Kota will move you okay, just not as quickly as the 55, and with more weight in the boat, any engine will move you more slowly.
Not sure what an Excursion 5 is, sounds alot bigger than my rig, I have a 55lb troller on my 16' sea-Nymph and it will "top out" at 1.9 mph which I think is pretty good for a troller.
