Rodbolt, who said anything about changing their ideology, making them our friend, or even insuring peace and security in Iran..... I think the idea is to go in and suppress the AA, take out CIII, bomb the sH*t out of all Nuclear facilities, then go home.... repeat as needed.

When I go tramping around in the woods and run across a Rattlesnake, I don't ask his intentions, I don't ponder if there is intelligence that he means me harm, I just shoot his asp.

Iran has given many indications that it would love to blow Israel right off the map, it is a terrorist State, (supports and exports terror) and hates US.

Can anyone think of a good reason to think the best of them?... wanna buy a bridge?

other than what do we do if China or Russia step in under the guise of aid? nuke them too ?

if W wont directly talk to the Irainian president he loses all credibility. is W scared that the Iranian president has a better command of the english lanuage maybe ?
the Iranians are far from good guys in my opinion, but the 1% doctrine is worse.
if W was actually a uniter he would be on airforce one heading to tehran.
I actually think he is living up to chicken hawk status.
but the Iranians,like north Korea are saber rattling now. they both understand the consequences of an actual nuke launch. the response from Russia,if headed that way,China if headed that way or the US if headed our way would be swift and brutal.
the advantage we have is the hour or so flight time, russia and china dont have that advantage,
and if you think the isrealis would allow a weapons program that close go back and look at how they handled hostile nuke threats in the past.
if its in their best intrest the isrealis are far more brutal than about any terror group.
and they have to be unfortunately

according to the Intel we can see as average schmucks, without bunker busting type nukes quiute a bit of the facilities are to far underground to bomb.
something the iranians learned from observing the isreali response to the Iraqi program in the 80's.
if we use conventional weapons it will make spactacular CNN film but wont make much difference to their program

We have non-nuke bunker busters that go deep under ground through many yards of steel reinforced concrete... delivered in train we can dig as deep as necessary.

We have always talked with our enemies. Sometimes it has worked, sometimes not. So what? What possible harm is there in talking, and in launching a global PR campaign?

Why is it such a radical idea to talk to our enemies? We don't need to talk to our friends. Presumably, they are on our side already.

Of course I doubt if a few incentives are going to carry the day as they did with Libya, as Iran is already awash with oil money (Libya was not), but I believe the Iranian people as a whole are not suicidal idiots--there's got to be a way to deal with this short of all out war--or at least war should be considered only if all else fails.

He has been quoted as claiming to be a prophet that will bring an end of the world.

If he truly wants peace, he would do whatever it takes to achieve peace.

Instead he has only offered resistance.

It's a stalling tactic, he thinks if he can get nukes he'll be the ruler of the Moslem world... or if he can force a ground war, same thing.

I think if we just bombed the nuke plants and destroyed infra-structure it would cause the Iranian people to re-think his suitability as President.
