Re: Irish boaters - any out there????

My dad was pure Irish, I'm only half. My mom was all messed up - English, German, Dutch and Scotch.

My grandmother's family built the railroad, grandfather's family built the Erie Canal. Then they all moved to Iowa and started farming.

Isn't "scotch" whiskey? I thought the nationality was Scottish, Scot. But what do I know, I'm a Dago!

Bingo! "Scotch" is incorrect when used to describe someone of Scottish heritage. Scot, Scotsman, Scottish are preferred.

Not a bad call from a wop btw. I owe ya one tbolt. 'Preciate it ...

Haven't checked this thread in a while. The longest I've ever started. For the record, scotch is whiskey. difference is the barley used for scotch is smoked over peat - hence the smokey notes from scotch. I'm rambling now.

Is this off topic - not really anything involving whiskey or any alcohol for that matter can be considered irish.

Speaking of which - the Jameson is calling me...

p.s. come back pcmpete, its fekin freeezing here!
