Re: Iron Head People

Dude, ya got ya some classic old "Iron". I been HD's, and others too, 50 years now, and I have a 72 Sporty motor. But its it a dragbike frame, I built, 20 years ago..(I BUILT from scratch, what the fat loudmouths on the tube bolt together now)!
Anyway, its a stroked out, bored out, cammed out, carbed out push start.(has a kicker, but not going there!)..monster. Insane fun, but kinda the corner the shop now, getting to old for this stuff.

What ya have is the transition from 71 900cc, to 72 1000. 72 kind of a oddball, as the 71, then 72, early73, then later 73, all have different top end changes. But don't roll over and die, as its all top jugs, and head bolt, bolt locations. Gasket sets upper end, must be right if ordered. Anyway, as I learned the hard way long ago, the "whats fits what", help ya out if I can. I got a lot of contacts, all over US.

Send me a PM, give you my email addy, and we can take it from there. I'll answer email, but don't ask phone, as I'm not a phone yakker, and still run a private shop, so when I do puter, its when I got time, always on in the shop though. I didn't look the pix close, but on the manifold, probably a "Rubber Band" Heads. Not O Ring. Got a carb with it? Should be a Bendix, and they are fine, even if ya need a new one. ALL PARTS available too. No prob, we can get the old girl running again just fine. also, search..
"Zoom Cycle"..they have everything, and they used to send a free catalog, me anyway, (2004 last) but that was awhile ago. The damn thing is 1616 PAGES, all HD! Size of a log! Plus try search, "Texas Iron"..all Sporty stuff.
Wish the best..too bad you are so far anyway from me, as I'm West coast, North. Be well, Robby
