I'm not new to boating but new to inflatables. I bought a old,old hypalon zodiac. It has the I.D. plate on the transom. It reads: Zodiac 61, Quai CARNOT
Saint-Cloud France
Type 2259
XDC 39970 M79D

It list's the max hp at 55hp.

The boat is seems to be in good shape. Its a little over 12ft long. Holds air for days.
My questions are, Do you know anything about this boat and even though is rated at 55hp, is my 20 year old 30hp tohatsu to heavy for such an old zodiac?

thanks, kyle

An old 55 HP engine weights a lot more than a 30 HP, will handle with no prob at all, should plane quick fast, just inflate your Zodiac well to perform best.

Happy Boating
