Re: is a Force outboard a realiable motor?? PLEASE GIVE YOUR OPINION!
I also presently own a 1997 Force 15 hp, been boating for 50 years, and owned every brand of OB's you could think of from 3 hp to 115 hp. Mine runs great, my favorite fishing spot is 6 miles away at WOT and then I troll all day, do this twice a week from late spring to late fall. (North) Never had any problem so far ... It is well knowned that Force are entry level OB's and are old technologie ... so ??? Mine likes 91 octane (runs smoother at idle) gas and good oil ... that's it. The one wiht non true exhaust do smoke more than other brands of OB's but that can be solved using synthetic 2 stroke oil. (I do)
I would not hesitate a bit to buy a mint condition Force OB ... but I would like to pay less for it than if it was an OMC or Merc.
Cheers
