Is Honda 7.5hp a good motor?

Looking for some advice about this Honda 7.5hp longshaft outboard. In general, would this be a good reliable motor for trolling? Do they idle well without loading up etc? Would be using on a 14' Livingston for trolling. Any help appreciated as I know nothing about Honda outboards. Of course I am looking for info and opinions in general and not specifically on this unit.

It was horrible from the beginning until Honda did away with them. The only people who purchased them were blow boat sailors who didn't know what an outboard was supposed to be like. Serious POS when used in saltwater. Otherside of the coin is that they were fine, for their time, as freshwater engines.

I have a Honda/Volvo B75, longshaft and I'm extremely satisfied.
It is noisy and produces vibrations (by todays high standards), but it's a workhorse, you can depend on it any time. It virtually doesn't need any maintenance except for oil changes.
