is it a 5.8 or 7.5?

I know this is probably a dumb question but I just got an 1989 bayliner 2455 and it is supposed to have an cobra omc 5.8. But looking at the spot where the carb was it has four holes all the same size. And the clymer omc book shows that to be the 7.5 . How can I tell the diff.thanks

It's probably a 5.8. Not sure the 24 has room for a big block. Look the engine over and see if there is some model numbers. Pictures will work, but post some pics of the drive as well.
