Re: is it damaged?

Well Elvin

I suppose a bit of happines is OK, But I whish I have a Nissan - or Honda.

As for Rodbolt: if you look you will see that the fuel pump on my model was changed for the 2002 model year. According to the Yamaha rep in GA, it added a cooling loop, by connecting to the water pump indicator tube, to cool it an avoid
vapor lock".

That is the pump I have now - I really don't understand why Yamaha was not more creative in trying to help me. I would have parted with money to get out of this engine, or get a warranty. They really don't care about the stuff they say in the marketing.

They have almost suceeded in getting me to give up boating and go back to golf.

gary

Re: is it damaged?

Well

Now that I think about it I am more unhappy with Yamaha than in the beginning. You cannot apoint an authorized dealer and then, whey thy aren't any good, tell the customre to go to a "better dealer" we have no information from which to make that decision.

As far as I am concerned Yamaha is "smoking something funny" if they think this is a viable model for success. When they sold two strokes it may have been a better company, now, with the four strokes we are all being stroked.

The company rep told me I could not transport my engine with oil, if it was to be placed on its side!. On a small portable motor that is absurd.

No wonder they don't want to warranty anything else on this. It would have cost them about $25.00 to make me happy and they refuse to do so.

Still no engine back, so I wait and hope that I can help others not make this mistake.

Gary
