Re: Is it hard to change the tiller handle??

The bracket for the tiller is a part of the steering bracket. They are interchangeable, you might have to let the pivot shaft follow the bracket that holds the tiller.

Difficult ?? Depends a lot of if it is salt water motors. The long bolts that holds the two parts of the lower mount around the midsection occationally breaks, apart from that usually no problems. You only have to part the lower mount, loosen the mount from the pivot shaft in buttom and remove the 3 nuts for the upper rubber mounts, then you can wiggle the whole bracket from the motor with the motor resting on its back on a workbench or the floor. Maybe its best to remove the vertical shaft from the tiller gear to the armuature plate first. Go for it !!!
