Or do they all have a governor that keeps them at least 10 MPH under the speed limit?!?!
It seems that you must be at least 85 to own one, wear big plastic sunglasses over your normal quadrafocals, and constantly hit the brakes for no apparant reason (either that or ride with one foot on the gas, one on the brakes). It also seems that directionals are optional...most opt out I guess. AARRGGGGHHHHHH!!!!!

Ah Buick... The LAST car that you will buy. Century... named for how long the average owner has been alive.
It's not just the Florida Buicks either. They actually live here. We just ship 'em down to you for the winter ;) .

I was in Florida two weeks ago and actually you people move along the highways at a good clip...

Okay there was the occasional Buick moving slow... the expression "slow as death" comes to mind.

We do not have the road network to go fast up here!

We live in Wisconsin and non of them are driven slow.......must be just the FLA ones then.

They are great cars.....while I wont drive one because I prefer a truck, they have great luxuries and drive GREAT. I love the ne Lucerne.......great looking car.

The come down here to AZ every winter too. It's always a celebratory time when it gets hot again and they leave.

Fact or troll? This is not the first time a topic has been made on slow moving Buicks. I think there is something about them doomed to be a slow mover, especially the gold colored ones. :D

not only do we have Buicks here but a more dangerous beast, Volvo's with tuttle tops, most with white tags. incredibly unpredictable and may take a left from the right lane or lock up the brakes when passing a DQ driveway at any given moment. best to stay in front or well behind them.

The glasses are required while recovering from cataract surgery.

Driving slow (10mph under the locals and immortal youths who are at SL+20mph) is respect for long reaction times and 60 years of hearing that bull about how "speed kills; the random braking is wondering if the next exit is the right one.

The correct term is FOP (Florida Old People). They also drive pink or yellow 70s and 80s Caddys.

Well...there would be less of them now wouldn't there. ;) (bad Dave...bad)
Like I said...I don't think Buicks will go that fast. :D

Re: Is it just FL Buicks?? (rant)

Well we don't have many Buicks in the UK (count 'em one hand) but we do have Volvo's  These Swedish-designed motorised coffins plague the roads, especially on Sundays.
I'm talking here about the older 240's etc, but even the 940 estates are slooooooowwwwwwwwwww.

Requirements for driving a Volvo in the UK (Sundays it is mandatory);

1. Must be over 80 and have both parents present in the vehicle.
2. Throw cushions must be on display on the parcel shelf.
3. A tartan travelling rug is obligatory.
4. Cloth cap or Panama hat is compulsory, even if you are female.
5. Gears 3, 4 and 5 (if you own such a modern contraption) are NOT to be engaged and are merely for show.
6. Maximum speed must NOT exceed walking pace due to the danger of your passenger getting an attack of the vapours.
7. Vehicles behind flashing headlights and sounding horns are merely indicating approval of your choice of reliable car.
8. ONLY drive on narrow roads with no straights and definitely with no passing places.
9. If at all possible always tow your caravan, even if you aren't actually going to use it.
10. Indicators are for other, common, people, not for the likes of a Volvo driver like yourself.

I gotta go lie down now, my blood pressure chart is NASA shaped again   ;)
