My first expiriences on water was in canoes patleboats ext... and people would intentionaly come close and try to flip us over? Then when i got my jetskis i have some people yelling at me when im goin down the river i stay on the rite but they think they own the water cause they got the bigger boat or a skier, they will yell at me to move over to go over to even shalower water closer to the shore and the skier will be coming directly at me till the last 50 feet.
Also yell at me when im runing my ski at a fast idle because it needs to warm up with the little either in it cause the butterflies warped, its ushualy somone form out of town or even state. Maybe they are doin the right think but iv lived on this river my whole life befor their was even a boat lawnch and these people try to tell me how to navigate the river and what to do? After working on my ski for over 7 hours i get it on the water and its runnign great then somone starts swearing at me and yelling so i come closer then he says i have an unregsterd watercraft like a big cop i just forgot to stick it on after all the work. We have no cops on the river and i lawnch from my own property so as far as im concerned if i didint want to register them i wouldnt but i do cause i liek to be an ethical skier/boater.
Whatsup with all these out of town A holes? Maby im just venting but it seems like a big problem around here.

Go pump some iron and then punch them all in the face. Problem solved.

I hate to be the one to tell you this but I think jetski hate is univeral, most of it brought on by a few knucklehead jetskiers. I was in a slow speed zone the other day and got blasted by a guy on a jetski, who had what looked like a 5 year old girl on the back. He swamped my deck and got me and my son soaking wet, then laughed as he hammered the throttle and took off. I was seriously gonna run him down except for the little girl. Oh and yeah there a lot of a-hole boaters too.

Then a week later he was by himself and he yelled at a younger kid and the kids dad punched him in the face... Havent seen him in a while. It ushualy not worth it and it wasint i just let it catch up to him and it did and I dont have assault on my record. :D
Happens to me on boats or jetskis...

Its the Jetski thing Matt....unfortunately the stereotype associated with these things is that of them usually being the A-hole on the water....sort of goes with the territory now.;)
Good luck

Yeah, Matt. It is just you.

Everyone else on the water is a kind, loving and courteous gentleman except when they see Matt. Then they turn into homicidal maniacs full of hate and unbelievable evil.

Were I you I would do my best to stay out of their way.

Or. . . you could mount a mini-gun on your ski. :)

Or you could channel that anger into learning how to spell :)

Sorry, but you might have something to say in your post, but it hurts to try and read it :D

I thought it was someone posting as a joke.

Down load one of those free spell checkers. The free Google tool bar includes a spell checker.

I don't know why this forum does not offer one? Most other forums do.

Basic rules of the road. I always give skiers a wide berth as they are the less manueverable craft. I have a tendency to ignore jet skis for the same reason. I don't know what kinda water you're in , but I'm on a large river where the main body is a mile wide and four miles long. There's enough room for everybody. I've seen worse behavior more often from bigger boats than jet skis.

Re: Is it me or are their alot of A hole boaters?

Hehe I gotta chime in on this one.

I do pump iron,, Im 6'5" and 240 lbs with only a 32" waist. I live in the gym and not trying to float my own boat here but kinda intemidating. Im no bully but my stature comes in nice when ive had enough.

That said, when I lived in Myrtle Beach I had a sleeper, a 2050 bayliner with a nasty roller 350.

I was beached on the waterway along with a few other boats at popular spot where people would grill or picnic a lunch. I was laying on the rear deck with my butt on the swim deck and feet in the water. I could hear jetski's playing around in the area. Out of the blue I am covered in water. I hear laughing and I sit up and see a punk on a jetski less than 2 feet from my legs.

He took off and I had to get my boat back in the wate for the chase.......I was *$&# pissed and planned on taking it out on his head and his jetski.

I ran him down and could smell his fear. He ran it up at the dock uner the N.Myrtle Beach bridge. Just as he got off and stood on the dock I kinda bumped his jetski.............a bit rougher than I had planned on ;) . I jumped off the boat, headed right for the punk (the fear was really visible as my calf was the size if his chest) and decked the "A hole" right in the nose, knocking him off the dock. He surfaced and tried to get back on the dock, blood just a pumping from his nose. I proceeded to pick his narrow rear end up off the dock and throw him back in the water. Twice more he finally ASKED me if he was allowed to get out of the water. I said "not yet" and proceeded to **** on his jetski. I then got back in my boat and said, now you may get out as I motored away trying to hide the sick grin on my face. :D

Where I float now, the Jetski's are only an issue during the summer on the weekends. And I find the general age of the users getting older and older. To me they have become less of an issue in recent years. What bugs me now are the late 20 somethings in their brand new pleasure boat blasting down the water buzzing the people fishing.

a lot of people don't know the rules of the road and unfortuneately a few jet skiers ruin it for those who do operate them properly. along with owning a power boat I also sail. Try sailing around those boaters who don't know the rule of the road. Fortuneatly when I am out on the small river most know what they are doing and it helps.

Re: Is it me or are their alot of A hole boaters?

One thing I have to add to this Matt . . . When I am pulling a skier or wakeboarder, say it's 8:30 AM, we got out earlier than usual for some glass, and the river is wide open, and a big honkin' mirror from end to end. If a flippin' jetskier, or boater for that matter, finds it sooooo important to pass me and muck up the good stuff, I am less than pleased. If that is what has been happening, then sorry, it's just one of those things.

If, on the other hand, you hang back, and as soon as the skier goes down, you pass, then you are awesome with me. I don't care if you're on a Stand-up 440 or a in an Unlimited Hydro with turbines . . .

We've all thought about it but doing it is a whole new level of anger, you may wanna learn to relax more.

Not sure of the demographics of Myrtle Beach, but you may want to be careful where you try your intimidation tactics. We had a similar situation down here (New Orleans area) about 7 or 8 years ago. Jay Merrill may remeber it? The "punk" pulled a 9mm out of his jet ski and blew the over-developed a-hole away. Courts upheld it as a justified shooting since the punk was in fear of serious bodily injury.

I personally keep a shorty AR-15 in my boat. Things are going to get interesting if someone starts chasing me down.
