I have an older Johnson Seahorse trolling motor that my dad sent to me to use. After some prep work I did manage to get it to run. The high and low speed adjustments were a bear to adjust correctly. I went with what I have read within this forum....1 1/2 turns on the low and 3/4 turn on the high. This got the motor running but man does it smoke. I am running 50/1 Johnson oil, is it normal for the older motors to smoke like that or can it be reduced by playing with the high and low speed Carb adjustments?
Thank you for any advice you may be able to give
Jeff
