What Don is saying about injectors banging is very true and the consistency of the ticking is very uniform like injectors would sound.... and on both banks......But it does sound quite loud for injectors ...pull a vavle cover if one is loose (Rocker Arm) it wont take long to find it. You can run some marvel mystery oil (heavy amount ) thourgh the gas system that will temporarily quite injector rattle...which is common.

Ohh i doubt very much thats lifter noise.

It is very simple to tell if it is lifter noise. Remove a rocker cover and slip a feeler gauge between the rocker and valve stem. If that valve quiets, it is lifter noise. If it isn't oiling there is a cam bearing/lubrication issue. Who knows, if any work was done on the engine the lifters may not have been adjusted properly. Another trick is to place a hammer handle against the push rod end of the rocker arm and push down firmly and steadily until the lifter collapses, then let go. If the lifters are sticky this tends to loosen them up but it also gives you a base line for the noise. It will change from what you are currently hearing. The fact that the noise is on both sides of the engine so that indicates ALL lifters are noisy (if that's the issue). That says, improper adjustment, oil pressure, or cam bearing/oiling issue.
