Hi all
I have a 4.3 mercruiser V6 engine that has a problem. I initially found water in the cylinders and blamed the exhaust manifold. they were changed out for new. on running the engine on the hose again i ended up with water in the oil. I scrapped off the manifolds and noticed some water in the bottom of one. I took my heads to a machine shop and had them refinished, there was a warp in one of them, however I noticed that one of the flaps of my starboard exhaust flappers is missing.
is it possible that this flap could have fallen into the y tube and be blocking the exit of the water and exhaust causing a back up of water into the engine. Just a long shot but i am asking any how, if anyone has had any thing like this happen. or what is the case when people loose the flappers.
yeah I rather ask the stupid questions than buy the new parts
No Fuss
