is it reliable?

yesterday i used for the first time a 1.2tanaka on a 9foot grp boat and it pushed it well for an half an hour then a break for fishing and another straight half an hour the motor runs good,can i use this motor for longer period ie 3hrs straight for spinner fishing ?i don t want to exceed the limits of this small but good engine. is there any advice?

It should have no problem running all day if necessary.
The only caution would be extended low speed operation if it is air cooled.
But I imagine you would need 1/2 to 3/4 throttle to troll anyway with a 1.2.
As time goes by be sure the mice aren't building nests in the shroud.
I get them in my lawntractor engine occasionally over the winter.

Sure. You can use it as long as you want. That little engine is designed to run, and will last a pretty long time.

That is a very durable little engine. It should serve you well as long as it is maintained properly. I think you will be very satisfied with the service that little engine will give you. You will want to run a fuel additive through it every so often to keep the internals clean. I think everyone will agree that "Seafoam" is about the best thing going now and will work wonders on an outboard.
