Well I got everything sorted out. I'm spinning 4700rpm(4800 is WOT) with a 14.25X19 3 blade aluminum(cupped). I can get sort of a good deal on a Solas stainless 4blade 14.25X17. What can I expect? Thanks

Re: Is it worth it?

I went from a laser 3 3 blade 23 pitch to a new solas 4 blade 21 and gained 250 rpms... I love the solas 4 blade I put on, but kinda wish I had gone with the 23 pitch to begin with. If i weren't going to change the engine and drive ratio, I would have tried the 23 as well. I love the 4 blade... Hope this is helpful

Yes, it is helpful. It's interesting that you gained 250rpm. I was sorta hoping that I would not gain any, or at least no more than 100. How's the cruising speed?

Start with the basics -- what motor do you have and what are you looking for?

Re: Is it worth it?

The boat is a 19' Campion cuddy cabin. 4.3 fuel injected Volvo-penta, SX. At 4700rpm with a 3 blade aluminum,, well you know the rest. The boat weighs about 2800lbs. I would like a lower planning speed.(mine is about 24to26mph)
I'm also interested in stern lift, fuel economy and overall better handling. At WOT the boat is darn near doing 50mph:eek:. So I don't mind losing some top end. The performance report says the OCS is around 24mph at 2500rpm. I prefer closer to 3000rpm at around 30mph for cruising. But at 2500rpm the report says I'm only burning 5 gph. Is there more questions that need to be asked? I like it!
