Is it worth rebuilding.

I have a question for all the boat mechanics out there. I was given a 1999 200 hp EFI motor. The thing looks good overall, wiring is in great shape and lower unit is strong. It did have a lot of leak down on the test i ran. Tore it down and found the number one port side cylinder with some scratches which will have to be bored out. My question is it worth rebuilding due to the age of the motor. I can do the work myself but not sure if it's worth rebuilding a 16 year old unit. What do y'all think.

better let me haul it off for ya!....naw, if ya have confidence in yourself and a very good machine shop guy how else can ya get a 200 efi with practically everything in/on it brand new (when done correctly) 4 grand or less..... any 2.5 that has a block.(no big holes), crank and rods still good is well worth repair.. ta me anyway.... jmo

Agree with Duke....just send injectors and ECU to Brucato and have cleaned and tested.....

Thanks for the advice guys. I don't have anything to put it on right now but if it worth it I'm going to put it on a new hull.
