Re: is loctite suitable to replace stripped threads on block
ok............so it took me a month...but I finally have the head off the motor cause I plan on bringing it to the shop tommorrow. Now I have to ask.is there anything I should be looking for now that the head is off????...............There doesn't seem to be any scaring on the cylinder wall's, but the piston's do seem pretty carboned. They are very rough and very black. Should I take a piece of emery cloth to them???? Oh, and I bought a new head gasket, but the old one kind of fell apart as I was taking it off.......there are what I can only describe as orange scraps of paper stuck to the head and to the block......I got the worse of them off.....should i sand the rest of it off???? I'm guessing yes.

Oh and for the record.........even though I don't recomend using it for the same reasons the experts warned me about it......that loctite stuff that I used on the spark plug worked fine for the last month, and I have a feeling would have worked forever..........I just feel safer with a helicoil.

thanx for the help guys
