something is surely not right, a 115 should turn a 17 pitch prop almost 6K RPMs on that boat you should hit 45 or so with just you in the boat. check compression and spark, you got an issue for sure, but those boats do run better with a 150 or a 175 on the back.. but your 115 I would not consider underpowered. something is wrong, what length shaft is your motor?
