Is my Mariner a Yamaha? 6E3 410052

Can any one tell me who built my motor. This is a 5HP 1985 or so Mariner. I know Merc sold Mariners but that Yamaha built some Mercs. Who built this one? Thanks.

Yep, it was built by Yamaha but don't expect Yamaha parts to fit it.

Because it was built for Mariner and their design was different than Yamaha's. A few pieces and parts interchange but it takes some study to figure out which ones.
